09:12 pm - Busy Bee...
Hi all,
I cant believe how extremely busy I have been these past few months. In addition to teaching and all the paperwork that comes along with that, I have been forced by my district to take a class on Tues. nights for 4 weeks. Every "novice" teacher has to do these requirements, but I wish, wish, wish they would take into account how busy first year teachers are. It is excruciating. I work about 10-11 hours everyday (and I am salary) so by the time I get home from work I am pooped. Thank god for the crockpot or my poor husband would be starving.
However, I love my job, I am really happy about it and even though I am a bit in the disillusionment faze where you are really just trying to figure out what the hell your doing, I still find it really enjoyable. My kids are sometimes total turkeys but whatever, I can deal with that..
I have been reading everyone's entries..and commenting when appropriate..Hope everyone is doing well other than that..

01:46 pm - Fashion Advice.. Hey All,
Well I have exciting news! I got my first teaching job!! It is only a half semester contract but whatever, I will take it! That being said I need some fashion advice. Of course I have to be a professional dresser, but I want to be able to maintain some of my own flair without being dorky or looking like I am trying too hard. So, keep in mind that I have a tattoo of a pin up girl that is topless on my right shoulder so I will always wear 3/4 length sleeve shirts or a cardigan while at work, and I have rather large tattoo on each calf so I dont wear skirts or dresses unless I can wear them with knee length boots or dark, dark tights (which its still summer weather here so I wont be doing that yet) so I wear cropped pants or pants. Also, money is an issue. I am broke as a joke but my mom did give me some money for school shopping (I know I am 14 all over again!) So tell me, those of you out there that dress up for work or that have seen some good websites..Give me some ideas...(Jessica, I really hope to hear from you because I think you are super stylish!)
Thanks so much..
Love, Stacy

07:35 pm - The Weekend... This weekend was really fantastic! Saturday was Andy's birthday and so Friday nite he went out with my sister and some of his friends and got loaded ( I didnt go, I dont drink because of the epilepsy thing and I am just not that into it anymore, luckily he has my sister to be his drinking partner) so Sat. both of them were totally hung over. I got up and made a huge breakfast for him for his birthday, which he barely ate because of the aformentioned hangover but whatev, it was a great breakfast for me. And then I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday day and he said he just wanted to hang out and watch movies so that is what we did. We had an amazingly relaxing weekend with movie watching, reading, a bit of working in the garden and hanging out with the dogs. It doesnt sound that exciting but sometimes you just need those type of weekends, ya know?
I start a new temp job tomorrow, this summer has really been a bitch and I dont see myself getting a teaching job this fall, I am sending the stuff in for my teaching license this week, but I still havent recieved the grades for my Social Studies Praxis and you need that to get hired. There is only one Social Studies job in my district right now so I just dont see it happening, but I will sub until something comes up. To be honest I am not ready yet. I feel like I would have wanted to know in July at the latest so I couldve started planning, and if someone gave me a job right now I would be scared shitless because school starts Aug 25th and I wouldnt be ready.
Pete is doing good, he and Julien are getting along wonderfully. This weekend he also met my sister's dog, Reggie and they seem to like each other as well..yay!

03:47 pm - Bikes...
Despite not having all the money in the world, Andy & I went and bought a bike for me today, he bought a beach cruiser earlier this week because he found one that he really liked, and we struggled to find one for me because I am short (only 4' 11") and we finally found one that I felt really comfortable with..its very cute, pink (with a pearl tone to it) with hibiscus flowers. I am working on getting a little basket for Julien for the front, but first I am going to make sure I am a good rider before I take him out on it.
I am going to try to put a picture on here...
I'm gonna look pretty damn cute cruising around!!
Yea for summer!!

03:29 pm - Something to be excited about..
I am really excited because I had an appt. on the 25th of July to start Clomid and I had to call today to reschedule it because I got a JOB!! And not only that but they moved my appointment up to June 30th...I am ecstatic, the sooner we can get the baby thing going the better. I have been reading my "Getting Pregnant" book and using my fertility journal and taking my vitamins so I am trying to get ready. I have also been walking every night and trying to keep my stress level down and of course..keeping the lovin' in the bedroom going...

04:41 pm - struggling..
i have really been struggling lately..its crazy..i can not find a job for the life of me..and I am not talking a teaching job, i am talking a regular ol' summer job doing something to bring money in. granted i have been looking into front office/clerical positions because i am a bit tired of working nights and weekends since I did that all through college, but c'mon people!! it is so frustrating!! i am officially employed by 4 staffing agencies that are looking for me and i have been sending out my resume like crazy. i have had one interview so far, and i didnt get the job. one of the biggest problems is i think that people see that i have a degree in education and think that i might leave in 3 months, which is totally valid, if i get a teaching job this year i am going to go teach, however, there are 4 social studies jobs available in my district currently so the likelihood of that is slim. i tried to explain that in the interview but i dont think the lady got it. i think she wanted someone that would be totally into selling custom doors, well, i wouldnt mind being the secretary, but i dont love doors, sorry..
anyway, thats whats been going on with me, i have been reading everyone's journals i just havent had the energy to post because i have been a bit frustrated and discouraged...
the good news is..the Mr. and I have decided to move forward with the baby making process and I go to see the gyno on July 24 at 12 to discuss starting fertility treatments..i just had my 32nd birthday and we decided were ready, job or not..at least i have completed my degree which was really important to both of us. so cross your fingers, say a prayer, rub the blarney stone or whatever you need to do to wish us luck, we would be sooooo appreciative we are really excited! 06:16 pm Wow!! Its been a long time since I've posted, and apparently Ive lost a few friends along the way..oops! Its not that I intentionally do not post, I think about it all the time, in fact if lj wasnt a blocked website at school I would post during lunch or something...I am still student teaching, but I feel like my chances of getting a job are pretty slim. There just isnt a need for social studies teachers here, it wouldve been fucking cool if the university would have told me that before i picked a major (although i dont think it wouldve mattered) so I am tooting along doing my thing and I am patiently waiting for student teaching to end. student teaching ends on may 16th and i have to do a few observations at other schools so hopefully i will get my face and name out there and try to snag me some kind of job. i can still sub next year but that is not ideal because I hated it, you dont make any friends when your subbing and you only get to hang out with kids for the day (which could be good if they're mean kids) its just not ideal..
well im rambling, which is why i havent posted lately...i dont have much to say..i have been faithfully reading and commenting when necessary....
